The Case For Shorter Posts [BoBs]

The term “blog” was coined in 1997 by Jorn Barger as a shortened version of the “web log.” That was 16 years ago. I, Bill Edwards, say it's time for a change

How about a shortened version…a “web observation?”  What about BoBs?
(BoBs were intro'd in late 2013. The BoB journey continues...)

Be honest...how many blogs do you read from start to finish? Or save, then go back and delete without reading? Very few of us have "or take" the time to commit. BoBs could work, especially if you tie them together with memorable quotes, jokes or thoughts.

So if you’re tired of blogging, then BoB!

Here's the recipe for a BoB:
  • Headline
  • Subhead - Your choice
  • Short marketing observation (3-5 short paragraphs, preferably 4-8 sentences but no penalties here!)
  • Note: BoBs are about MARKETING...not inbound, outbound, traditional, digital, native....no, no and NO! Marketing...ALL of it!
  • At the end, include a powerful or humorous famous quote or saying that ties to the BoB and helps "stamp" your observation into the readers mind.
Start cooking...uh, ahem..BoB'ing now.
